MEET THE TEAM

ChatGPT Image Jul 27, 2026, 05_15_15 PM.png

Meet Heather

Every company full of inspectors needs someone who can keep all the boys in line. At HHI, that someone is Heather—and trust us, they know who the boss is.

Heather is quite possibly one of the hardest-working women in South Texas real estate. She keeps the HHI team moving, holds everyone to a high standard, and has one rule when it comes to the company: we can always be better. Better service, better education, better systems, and a better experience for our clients and real estate partners.

But Heather isn't just running the show behind the scenes. She's become a familiar face throughout the South Texas real estate community as a hardworking marketing professional, educator, and relationship builder. She continues to help Realtors and other real estate professionals grow through classes, continuing education, and good old-fashioned real-world knowledge.

And somehow, between keeping JJ and a company full of inspectors pointed in the right direction, building relationships, teaching classes, and marketing HHI, Heather still finds time to give back. Charity and community involvement are a huge part of who she is. When there's an opportunity to help someone, she's usually one of the first people stepping up.

Heather has a way of bringing a bright light into every room she walks into—but don't confuse that smile with being a pushover. She expects the best, works incredibly hard herself, and expects her team to do the same.

Leader. Educator. Marketing powerhouse. Community supporter. Keeper of the inspectors. And the woman who makes sure JJ remembers who's actually in charge.

That’s Heather.

Meet Katy

If HHI were a machine, Katy would be the part that keeps the whole thing from flying apart.

Katy is on the front lines of HHI, and she understands something incredibly important: a great inspection experience starts before an inspector ever arrives at the house. It starts when that phone rings—and Katy is one of the people making sure it gets answered, handled, scheduled, and taken care of.

On any given day, she’s helping clients, coordinating inspectors, keeping the pest control team moving, answering Realtors’ questions, getting lenders what they need, tracking down WDI

reports, solving scheduling puzzles, and probably answering three questions from JJ at the same time.

Basically, if something needs to happen at HHI, there’s a pretty good chance Katy has something to do with making it happen.

She works incredibly hard, stays on top of the details, and helps keep the entire operation running smoothly. But apparently running HHI wasn't enough to keep her busy—Katy is also currently attending Real Estate Inspector school, expanding her knowledge and learning the inspection side of the business herself.

Katy isn't just part of the office. She's one of the legs the entire operation stands on, and HHI is incredibly fortunate to have her.

Organizer. Problem solver. Client wrangler. Inspector coordinator. Future inspector. And the person you call when you need to know what the heck is going on.

That’s Katy.

Meet JJ

JJ is the founder and owner of HHI Home Inspections, retired U.S. Army veteran, inspector, educator, problem solver—and a guy who has spent enough time in attics to have a personal grudge against blown-in insulation.

JJ founded HHI in 2010 with one simple philosophy:

Do the right thing.

What started with one inspector, a flashlight, and probably way too much time crawling through Texas attics has grown into a team of experienced

professionals helping thousands of buyers, sellers, investors, and real estate professionals every year.

JJ specializes in residential and commercial inspections, but his philosophy has always been that a great inspection is about more than finding what's wrong. Anyone can hand you a giant report filled with red arrows and scary words. JJ wants clients to understand how the property works, what actually matters, what can wait, and what deserves their attention.

And after all these years, he still believes inspectors should never stop learning. Every house, commercial building, roof, foundation, crawlspace, electrical panel, and “my cousin said he knew how to fix it” homeowner repair has something new to teach you.

The JJ Difference

  • JJ doesn't want you walking away from an inspection with 50 pages of problems and 100 new questions. He wants you walking away saying:

  • “Okay. Now I understand what I'm buying.

  • ”The goal is simple: educate the client, explain what matters, and take as much guessing as possible out of owning or buying a property.

  • Specialties: Residential Inspections • Commercial Inspections • Building Systems • Property Evaluation • Client Education

Army veteran. Business owner. Inspector. Educator. Problem solver. And living proof that nobody should willingly crawl through this many attics in one lifetime.

That’s JJ.

Meet Justin

A licensed electrician, Certified Master Inspector, and proud U.S. Army veteran, Justin brings a trained eye and a “details matter” mindset to every inspection. His electrical background gives him an added advantage when evaluating a home’s systems, but what really sets Justin apart is how he works with his clients.

He takes the time to explain what he finds, answer questions, and make sure you actually understand your inspection—not just hand you a report full of technical jargon.

With 9+ years of inspection experience, Justin is

thorough, approachable, and committed to excellent customer service. Whether he’s inspecting a home or a commercial property, you can count on him to find the details, explain the details, and probably notice a few things everyone else walked right past.

Army discipline. Electrician knowledge. Inspector eyes. Customer-first attitude.

That’s Justin.

Meet Robert

A U.S. Navy veteran and Licensed Professional Inspector, Robert Smith brings a steady hand, a sharp eye, and years of experience understanding something every inspector eventually learns: houses have personalities too—and some of them are a little more dramatic than others.

Robert is known for being kind, hardworking, consistent, and incredibly thorough. Whether he’s performing a residential home inspection, checking foundation performance, or walking a new construction home during a pre-drywall

inspection, Robert takes the time tounderstand how the home is built, how it has moved, and how its systems are performing.

But Robert doesn’t keep all that knowledge to himself. Alongside JJ, he helps educate real estate professionals, sharing real-world inspection experience to help agents better understand homes, construction, and the inspection process.

After years of crawling through attics, studying foundations, walking job sites, and learning how Texas homes behave, Robert has developed the kind of experience you simply can’t get from a textbook.

Navy discipline. Years of experience. A teacher’s mindset. And one heck of a nice guy.

That’s Robert.

Meet Nathan

Nathan is quite possibly one of the most genuinely nice guys to ever crawl into an attic for a living—and somehow, after all that insulation, he’s still smiling.

His attention to detail, drive to keep learning, and exceptional customer service have made him one of the most sought-after inspectors in San Antonio. Nathan doesn’t believe in just checking boxes. He wants to understand how the home works, why something is happening, and what it means for his client.

He’s constantly learning, improving his craft, and

asking the extra question—because in home inspections, the little details have a funny way of turning into big, expensive details.

But what really makes Nathan stand out is how he treats people. He’s patient, approachable, and takes the time to explain his findings without making the house sound like it’s going to fall down before everyone gets back to their cars.

Sharp eyes. Big heart. Always learning. Great with people. And willing to crawl where nobody else wants to go.

That’s Nathan.

Meet Tony

Tony has been inspecting homes for 8+ years, which means he’s spent more time in attics than most people would ever voluntarily agree to. Along the way, he’s learned that houses definitely have personalities—and some of them have a whole lot more to say than others.

Tony is thorough, dependable, and genuinely enjoys helping people understand their homes. He’s the kind of inspector who doesn’t just say, “That’s a problem.” He’ll explain what it is, why it matters, and what the heck you’re actually looking at.

He also speaks Spanish, helping make the inspection process easier and more comfortable for Spanish-speaking clients.

But one of the best things about Tony? He never stops learning. After 8+ years, he’s still asking questions, studying how homes work, and adding more knowledge to his inspector toolbox.

Thorough inspections. Great customer service. Habla Español. And absolutely no fear of attics.

That’s Tony.

Meet Chris

If there’s a license, certification, or new skill that can make Chris a better inspector, there’s a pretty good chance he’s already working on adding it to his wallet. At this point, we may need to get him a bigger wallet.Chris is a tremendous asset to HHI because he’s constantly training, learning, and expanding his knowledge. Homes? Absolutely. Sewer systems? Yep. Mold? You bet. Customer service? One of his specialties. Chris understands that being a great inspector isn’t just about finding problems—it’s about helping people understand what they’re buying and making the entire

process a little less stressful.

And when he’s not inspecting houses, Chris serves the community as a Captain with the San Antonio Fire Department. Apparently, one demanding career just wasn’t enough. That experience brings leadership, discipline, problem-solving, and a pretty impressive ability to stay calm when things get interesting.

Fire Captain. Inspector. Constant student. Customer-service pro. And probably running out of room in his license wallet.

That’s Chris.

Meet Darryl

If it crawls, chews, buzzes, bites, destroys wood, or moves into your attic without paying rent, Darryl is probably the guy you want to call.

Darryl has been a Texas Certified Applicator for more than 20 years, treating pests, removing unwanted furry squatters, and inspecting homes for wood-destroying insects. With more than two decades in the pest control industry, there isn’t much that surprises him anymore—and termites definitely aren’t getting anything past him.About 10 years ago, Darryl and JJ joined forces with a pretty simple idea: Why make homeowners call

multiple companies when HHI could handle it all? Together, they helped make HHI one of the early home inspection companies in the area to offer professional home inspections and full-scale pest control under one roof.

Today, Darryl’s decades of hands-on experience and knowledge make him one of the top wood-destroying insect inspectors in South Texas. He knows what to look for, where pests like to hide, and—more importantly—how to deal with them when he finds them.

20+ years of experience. Pest control expert. Rodent remover. Termite detective. And absolutely no sympathy for anything eating your house without permission.

That’s Darryl.

ChatGPT Image Jul 27, 2026, 04_54_05 PM.png

Meet Curtis

If enthusiasm were a job requirement, Curtis would be seriously overqualified.

Curtis is one of the most energetic members of the HHI family. He’s smart, thorough, hardworking, and takes every job seriously—but he also has a personality that makes customers feel like they’ve known him for years.

In fact, one of our favorite problems is customers calling back and asking, “Can Curtis be my technician again?” And fortunately, the answer is almost always YES!

What really makes Curtis stand out is his desire to

keep getting better. He’s constantly asking questions, learning from the team, and adding to his knowledge. He’s even taking the next big step and is currently attending Real Estate Inspection school to earn his inspector license.

So while Curtis may show up today as your pest control technician, don't be surprised if tomorrow he's crawling through your attic, checking your foundation, and explaining something about your house you never knew you needed to know.

Great with customers. Serious about his work. Hungry to learn. And apparently collecting careers at HHI.

That’s Curtis.
